Following is a free pre-test and a post-test for Christian addictions recovery programs. The purpose is to determine if there is evidence that the recovery was based upon the Christian addiction recovery methods.

For a Program to qualify as a Christian addictions recovery program it must meet basic qualifications:
  • The program philosophy must believe and teach that addiction is a sin and not a disease.
  • The program must teach that there is no recovery without God (not a generic higher power). Recovery cannot come from self-will alone.
  • The program must believe that Jesus is Lord.
  • The program must use the Bible at least as a primary tool.
  • The program must teach and encourage regular church attendance and bible study.
  • The program must have all recovery meetings led by a trained and qualified leader.
(The Alcoholics Anonymous method of peer leadership and the use of the Big Book does not qualify as a Christian program.) (It is preferred that the Christian program make use of a Christian based recovery curriculum such as “Celebrate Recovery” by John Baker or courses by Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation or equivalent.)

The Onesimus House is sponsored & operated by Cornerstone Community Church with the assistance of local community members and organizations. It is modest (no "country-club") rural mountain living in a group home in a small town.

We have a 6-12 month residential recovery program. The fee is $3100 covering the first 6 months. Thereafter, residents only pay $45 per week rent. Ask us about our work-for-treatment provision.
